Raheny pip brave Mearnóg

dublin u15hc 'b' final

Raheny withstood a late onslaught by Naomh Mearnóg when claiming the Dublin U15 'B' Hurling Championship title by 3-12 to 0-14 at Parnell Park last Sunday morning.

In a superb advertisement for hurling at this grade, Raheny produced a wonderful team display with the attacking excellence of Sean O'Flynn ensuring they enjoyed a 2-10 to 0-7 interval lead.

The Portmarnock outfit battled back superbly in the second-half with Shane Kavanagh and Sean Hawkshaw narrowing their deficit while Darragh Bolger, Gavin Nangle and Fintan O'Connor all worked tirelessly for their side.

However, despite coming under increased pressure, the winners defended superbly through the efforts of Tom Keogh, Liam Owens, Brian Doolin, Glen Atkins and Phelim Kenny.

Midfield remained solid through Sean Grenham and Jack Fagan with O'Flynn and Ben McHugh always lively in the Raheny attack.
