Nolan back in the frame
KEVIN NOLAN (above) is back in contention for a place on the Dublin half-back line after making the subs bench for last Saturday's NFL deadlock with Tyrone, writes FRANK ROCHE.
"Kevin had an operation on his back so it's great to see him even getting on the bus," Jim Gavin enthused. "It's a great testament to the work he has put in off the field."
The Kilmacud defender was Dublin's All-Ireland final 'Man of the Match' and an All Star in 2011, only to be diagnosed with diabetes soon after.
He spent the 2013 All-Ireland campaign on the periphery but battled back to enjoy a run of starts towards the business end of last year's league.
Kevin O'Brien's Dublin comeback from last year's cruciate rupture has been stalled by a fresh injury.
"Unfortunately, during the break between the Donegal and Kerry games, he was back with his club and had a slight hamstring tear," explained Gavin, who said the Naomh Mearnog defender was otherwise making "great progress".
