Leahy drives the Mun men home against Na Fianna

DUBLIN AFL 1 & 2 ROUND-UP

Kevin Leahy's 48th-minute goal proved telling as Ballymun Kickhams overcame local rivals Na Fianna by
1-15 to 0-15 in their Dublin Adult Football League Division 1 clash at
St Mobhi Road last Saturday evening.

David Givney made an impressive debut for the visitors, combining well with Davy Byrne at centrefield while Jason Whelan was in outstanding form from wing-forward for Kickhams.

Leahy's goal arrived on the back of some fine scores by Dean Rock, Ted Furman and Derek Byrne, with a late comeback from the hosts proving in vain.

The win preserved Ballymun's
two-point lead at the summit as second-place St Brigid's beat Templeogue Synge Street by 1-15 to 0-9, while St Maur's accounted for St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh by 2-15 to 3-8 in Rush.

Meanwhile, in Páirc de Búrca,
David Nestor was in superb form as Kilmacud Crokes prevailed by 0-17 to 0-13 over St Sylvester's.

Nestor made two outstanding saves to maintain his side's lead with Crokes securing the win through four points apiece from Stephen Williams and David Campbell.
