Kevin McStay: Red Hands have too much class for Dubs

New blood: Dublin's Eoghan O'Gara scores his first goal under pressure from Louth's Paddy Keenan in last Saturday's All-Ireland SFC qualifier round 4 at Croke Park.

THE line-up of games this weekend very much mirrors the final qualifier round: in three of the games it was relatively easy to call a winner (Kildare, Dublin and Down) while the Cork v Limerick match looked too tight to call.
The quarter-finals look likely to produce three straightforward winners in Kerry, Cork and Tyrone with the Kildare v Meath game providing the tension.
Will it be that simple to pick a paying treble from the bookmakers? It probably will, even though Dublin might spoil the coupon. Kerry and Cork will win handily and handsomely.
The Leinster derby might go either way but I fancy Kildare to win it in the end. And that leaves Tyrone and Dublin.
I was at the Tyrone win over Down in Casement Park and felt the Ulster champions laboured badly but found the resolve to carry the day.
Tyrone looked to be a team on the slide and that is why I went with Monaghan to win Ulster but it has to be said Tyrone were excellent and blew the Monaghan challenge away in the final.
Their defence, tackling, composure, and skill level allowed for a quick transition to offensive play that simply devastated Monaghan — they had no answer to the Tyrone version of total football.
As a result Tyrone look to be in great shape and in a perfect position to launch their All-Ireland challenge. But I'd like to see them one more time before I am utterly convinced.
And it is that doubt that makes me believe Dublin will contest this game strongly, fight for all the ball available and make life difficult for the favourites.
We continue to describe the Dubs as hard-working, gritty, busy, committed and ambitious and they are all of that.
But their honesty of effort will provide a decent platform and ensure the game remains competitive close to the end.
The Dublin new boys on the block are interesting additions to their Championship drive and to date have performed well and sometimes very well.
I like the look of Rory O'Carroll, and Michael Darragh Macauley at midfield never stops trying. Eoghan O'Gara looks dangerous and I'm aware he is going well in training.
Dublin need to build on the early season promise and ensure one thing: No collapse this time around. If Dublin can keep it tight it just might end right.
But the Dubs must leave Croke Park with their master plan still intact. That can be achieved in victory or indeed in defeat.
But Tyrone are expected to end with a winning total because of the superiority they have in the class department.
