COUNTY football champs, Ballyboden St Enda's, have been drawn against Trinity Gaels in round one of the Evening Herald Dublin Senior Football Championship.

Last night in Parnell Park, last year's beaten finalists, St Jude's, were handed a first round date against Erin's Isle, the AFL Division 2 winners.

The tie of the round could be the clash between St Brigid's and Ballymun Kickhams. Ballymun, winners of the AFL Division 1, lost to Kilmacud Crokes in the quarter-final last season, while Brigid's, now in Division 2, fell to Jude's in the fourth round.

Last year's semi-finalists, Kilmacud, face a potentially tricky tie against Parnells, promoted from Division 2, while St Mary's, who also made the last four in 2009, will play Naomh Maur. The same system as last year will again be used, giving defeated clubs a backdoor chance. The SFC is scheduled to start in late April, and in rounds one, two and three, extra-time will be played.

In their 40th year, Ballyboden completed the double when their hurlers also took gold and completed the three-in-a-row when they overcame Craobh in the final. Boden have been drawn in Group B, along with O'Toole's, who took them to a semi-final replay. Last year's quarter-finalists, St Vincent's, Kilmacud and St Patrick's (P) are also in Group B. The top four teams in each group proceed to the quarter-finals.
