DUBLIN camogie's recent sponsorship deal with OZO Collect & Recycle, Leinster's leading independent waste and recycling company, is another boost for the game in the capital and is a partnership which should benefit all parties.

The deal, which was signed, sealed and delivered late last month, will see OZO become the official sponsor of Dublin camogie for the next three years and Brendan Cooper, vice chairman of the Dublin Camogie Board is extremely positive following the announcement.

"The OZO sponsorship of Dublin Camogie will mean that we can bring our game confidently into the year 2011 and beyond," he said. "Camogie is hugely important to the community and we appreciate OZO's generous sponsorship.

"We thank them sincerely and look forward to working with them over the coming years."

In the current economic climate, it has been increasingly difficult to attract sponsorship that will help to build on the foundations done, especially at juvenile level and OZO managing director Jonathan Archer recognises the importance of camogie at both an individual and a community level.

"Camogie is a fantastic game and we want to maximise its potential in Dublin and be branded as a modern, community-based game that offers girls and young women the opportunity to develop as players on the pitch and as leaders off the pitch," Archer said.

"Nowadays, there is greater emphasis on sport among the young people and there is greater recognition of the benefits of being involved in sport.

"These include health and fitness benefits and a happy family environment," he added.

Paul Beecher, Sales Manager of OZO, is no stranger to camogie in the county with the St Peregrine's clubman actively involved in Dublin GAA circles, whether managing the current Dublin U14 camogie team or refereeing at all levels in both football and hurling, and he is thrilled to be involved in this progressive development.

"We are delighted and proud to be associated with Dublin Camogie," said Beecher.

"We firmly believe in the importance of supporting sporting activities at a local level and hope that our involvement with camogie will see greater development and improvement of the game throughout the county," he added.

OZO, who act as a sponsor to Leinster Rugby among others, hope to work in conjunction with GAA clubs in reducing their waste costs.
