Forde's recovery vow
Stricken Meath footballer Alan Forde has vowed to bounce back "all guns blazing" from the cruciate injury that has ended his season.
Forde's second Royal coming, under new boss Andy McEntee, came to a traumatic end during the early stages of last Sunday's Division 2 rout of Fermanagh. His worst fears have now been confirmed.
"I was absolutely devastated but I knew the second it happened I was in big trouble," the Navan O'Mahony's clubman posted on Facebook.
"The response I got even leaving the field and watching the game with family/friends gave me a great lift and will stay with me forever. The recovery has started and fingers crossed I'll be back next year all guns blazing.
"The journey continues and I'll be driving it on from the sidelines," he vowed. "Persistence wears down resistance."
