Experience to count for Sars in 'Knock tie

Castleknock and Lucan Sarsfields finally make their 2015 championship bow when they meet in their Dublin SFC 1st round encounter in Clondalkin this evening.

Both clubs have impressed in the league to date with Castleknock topping AFL2 at present having secured eleven wins from thirteen matches while Lucan look well set for a promotion play-off spot as they lie fourth.

Castleknock have made huge strides in recent years, winning last year's Intermediate Football Championship, with the likes of Graham Hannigan, Des Carlos and Shane Boland highlighting the talent within their ranks while Ciarán Kilkenny's return to club action should offer them greater potency despite Castleknock missing the scoring ability of Rory Corcoran in their ranks.

Sarsfields are traditionally a sticky opponent for any team with Emmet Ó Conghaile drifting from full-forward to midfield and they have huge experience in their ranks in the form of Stephen O'Shaughnessy, Paul Casey and Brendan Gallagher.

In what should be an extremely tight affair, that factor more than any other could prove pivotal by the final whistle.
