Cluxton returns as Gavin rings the Sky Blue changes

DUBLIN'S teetering hopes of retaining their Allianz Football League crown have been boosted by the selection of Stephen Cluxton for the first time this season.

The skipper's return between the posts for tonight's Croke Park duel with Tyrone (7.0) is timely given Dublin's restart troubles in Kerry last weekend.

Cluxton's recall at Seán Currie's expense is one of six changes. Jim Gavin also recalls Eoin Culligan, Nicky Devereux, Emmett Ó Conghaile, Paddy Andrews and Bernard Brogan, the latter duo making their first starts of 2015, as the suspended Mick Fitzsimons, Darren Daly, Shane Carthy, Eoghan O'Gara and Cormac Costello make way. As with every Dublin announcement, late changes cannot be ruled out.

Gavin's hurling counterpart, Ger Cunningham, has confined himself to two changes as Dublin seek to preserve their 100pc Division 1A record against Cork in tonight's HQ curtain-raiser (5.0). Niall McMorrow replaces Simon Lambert at midfield while Ryan O'Dwyer is recalled in place of Colm Cronin at wing-forward.

DUBLIN (SF v Tyrone): S Cluxton; E Culligan, R O'Carroll, J Cooper; N Devereux, P McMahon, J McCaffrey; D Bastick, E Ó Conghaile; T Brady, D Rock, C Kilkenny; K McManamon, P Andrews, B Brogan.
