Dublin Camogie all set for big night out

ALL that glitters will be gold at Westmanstown this Friday. It's Dublin Camogie's night at the Oscars.

The annual awards ceremony will see the Dublin U16s among the VIPs. They claimed the All-Ireland title for the first time in 30 years this season.

They beat Galway in the final at Tullamore. And then the team paraded the trophy in front of Hill 16 at the Dublin v Mayo All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

They will also be a greeted with a standing ovation on this gala occasion, as will the Dublin juniors who won Division 4 and reached the All-Ireland Junior final.

Players-of-the-Year accolades and other prizes will also be given out, as will the inaugural Hall of Fame award.

Tickets cost ¤20. It has the makings of a sell-out.

p A note popped through the letterbox. It reads: Dublin senior camogie club, on the northside, would welcome new players. Top-class facilities and coaching guaranteed. Might suit camogie players from the country who, perhaps, have moved to the city. Contact (087) 6623589.
