Dublin AFL 1/2 round-up: Ballymun kick on at the top of the table

Two goals apiece from Jason Whelan and Derek Byrne helped Ballymun Kickhams overcome Cuala by 4-10 to 0-8 in their Dublin AFL1 clash at Páirc Ciceam yesterday morning.

Whelan impressed throughout for the winners, who secured their third league win on the bounce thanks to strong contributions by Elliott Reilly, Jason Welby and Eoin Dolan.

Hot on Kickhams' heels are Kilmacud Crokes, who remain undefeated this campaign after their noteworthy 0-12 to 0-8 away victory over St Brigid's.

Barry O'Rorke kicked five points for the winners, who remained in the lead throughout thanks to the efforts of Eugene Keating, Pat Duggan, Cillian O'Shea and Craig Dias, with Paddy Andrews impressing with five points for the hosts.

In AFL2, it remains similarly tight at the summit of the table with the top three in the table all enjoying pivotal wins.

Skerries Harps defeated Scoil Uí Chonaill, Castleknock got the better of St Anne's by 0-10 to 0-8 while Ballinteer St John's beat Naomh Mearnóg in Marlay Park.
