Crokes punish 14-man St Vincent's

Kilmacud Crokes proved too strong for 14-man St Vincent's, prevailing by 2-15 to 0-12 in the second instalment of the Dublin SHC quarter-final double-header at Parnell Park last night.

TIGHT

In a tight opening, points by Tomás McGrane, Alan Moore and the impressive John Hetherton left St Vincent's 0-5 to 0-2 ahead by the 15th minute but three unanswered points by Seán McGrath saw Crokes restore parity six minutes later.

Trailing by 0-7 to 0-6 at the break, McGrane missed a great goal chance in the 38th minute, scooping over from close range and after Davy Garland was dismissed a minute later, Crokes assumed control through Ryan O'Dwyer's 42nd minute goal and Ross O'Carroll sealed Vinnies' fate seven minutes from time.
