Ollie Baker, the man from Clare. Happy to leave Donnycarney with a ticket to the last four. Relieved more like.

Na Fianna made Kilmacud work for it. And work very hard. In time Declan Feeney will be more than happy with the efforts of the Mobhi side.

They played with spirit. And confidence. They are a young crew and are definitely on the way up.

Colin Currie was so solid on the placed ball. And the Na Fianna defence gave little away.

They couldn't have made a sharper start, attacking the church end goal. As Na Fianna led by six points to no score after seven minutes, the Crokes chief was saying his prayers.

Eventually, the Stillorgan men settled. But they still trailed by 0-11 to 0-7 at the break.

And Na Fianna led all the way until five minutes from time when Crokes levelled for the first time.

It was a most worthy contest. Extra-time looked likely for a spell.

A grey afternoon with no breeze. The sod was in fine order. Early in the second half, Na Fianna led by five points - 0-13 to 0-8. Crokes had to start their engines.. and quickly.

They began to notch some tidy points. Ronan Hayes, Oisín O'Rorke and Fergal Whitely were on the mark.

It was a free from the captain, Oisín O'Rorke that brought them level on 0-15 each.

Then, two minutes from time, Ross O'Carroll emailed over a crucial score from a tight angle.

A minute later, Hayes produced his second point. It was most welcome by the Crokes contingent.
