Crokes class to fend off ’Nell’s

EVENING HERALD DUBLIN SFC
Parnell's v Kilmacud Crokes
(Parnell Park, Tonight, 6.45)

PARNELL'S are growing in stature. Several top names. Among them the three Laois Lions - Darren Rooney, Colm Begley and Colm Parkinson.

Then there's the home cooking - fellas who have given gallons of sweat for the jersey. Darren Myler is an icon of the village. Just gets on with it, time after time. One of the brightest prospects of all is forward, John Dignam, a delightful footballer.

Crokes drip with class. The Stillorgan river has produced a rich harvest over the years. Among those joining in Dublin's U-21 party were Eoin Culligan, Rory O'Carroll, Mark Coughlan and Barry O'Rorke. Then there's Cian O'Sullivan, Darren Magee, Pat Burke, etc. They have major injury withdrawals though - Mark Davoren, Ross O'Carroll doubtful, Brian Kavanagh (ankle) and everybody will miss the Griff. A class act. Reads the script like Sharon Ní Bheolain.

Last Year - Parnells: 4th round. Kilmacud Crokes: Semi-Final.

Last Time Champs - Parnells: 1988. Kilmacud Crokes: 2008.

Form - Parnells (Div 1): W3 L2. Kilmacud Crokes (Div 1): W2 L3.

VERDICT: Kilmacud Crokes
