Second half goals from Darragh Spillane and Con O'Callaghan helped Cuala ease to a comfortable 2-14 to 1-7 victory over Naomh Olaf in their Dublin Senior 'B' Football Championship quarter-final at Páirc Ui Bhriain yesterday afternoon.

The hosts enjoyed a dream start as an innocuous looking ball from Eoin Kinsella deceived the away defence to fall into the net and Kinsella added a point soon after to leave Olaf's four points clear by the second minute.

Cuala's response was hugely impressive with Michael Fitzsimons playing a central role in midfield and the accuracy of Luke Keating in attack ensured them a deserved 0-9 to 1-3 interval lead.

The second-half saw Olaf's remain in contention through points from Pádraig Hanley and Kieran Hanley as the hosts raised their game through the efforts of Colin Doyle, Conor Haskins and Mark Doyle.

A well-worked goal from Spillane helped to stall any thoughts of an Olaf's comeback as Keating continued to punish any loose marking in the home defence.

Enda Kelly showed well at full-back for Cuala, with the Dalkey outfit confirming their win as O'Callaghan struck a typically memorable goal late on to seal a semi-final spot.
