Clash of cunninghams as Ger makes championship debut against galway

THERE will be a collision on the Cunningham Road next Sunday.

Dublin against Galway in the quarter-final of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship.

Ger Cunningham's Championship debut with the Dubs. Against Anthony Cunningham's Galway.

It's the first act of a Croke Park double-header that will see Jack Sheedy return to the Hill.

The hurling throws-in at 2.0pm, followed by the big ball at 4.0pm

"Nobody expects Longford to beat this Dublin team, so the important thing from Longford's point of view is that they enjoy the occasion and take as much out of it as they can," states the former Dublin forward, Ciarán O'Hare.

"Dublin are so strong and it's hard to see anyone in Leinster stopping them again this season," added Ciaran.

The hurling is expected to be much tighter. "Galway are always a dangerous side," remarks the St Jude's manager, Seán Fallon.

"But Dublin have settled well under Ger Cunningham, and I have every confidence in them."
