Cavan set to discuss Seánie's request

SEANIE JOHNSTON'S prolonged transfer saga edges closer towards endgame tonight when Cavan GAA's management committee convene to discuss his proposed move.

Cavan received the transfer request last Wednesday and have 10 days in which to raise an objection or the move will go through automatically.

Johnston's current club, Cavan Gaels, will meet on Wednesday night to decide whether to contest his bid to join Kildare club St Kevin's, and become eligible to play Kieran McGeeney's Lilywhites.

Johnston's eligibility for a transfer revolves around his claim that he is currently a resident of Straffan despite still working in Cavan.

If Cavan raise objections and the CCCC support them, Johnston may have to go to the Disputes Resolution Authority in a final bid to seal the move.
