CIARAN CLARKE'S last-gasp penalty goal saw Antrim dramatically snatch a 5-17 to 3-22 win over Laois in the Leinster SHC round-robin duel at Ballycastle.

Laois led by five points at the interval, 2-13 to 2-8, with Zane Keenan and Tommy Fitzgerald netting their goals.

The O'Moore County looked set for victory but were foiled by Clarke's strike.

WESTMEATH opened their Leinster SHC round-robin with a 2-19 to 2-17 victory over Carlow at Cusack Park.

Brendan Murtagh's 50th minute goal was the catalyst for victory after the sides were level at the break.
