Former Irish prospect White included in Leeds player cull
FORMER U21 cap Aiden White (right) is the latest Irish player to find himself looking for a new club after he was released by Leeds United.
FAI-watchers had high hopes for ex-England youth cap White when he declared for Ireland in 2011 and he went on to win 10 U21 caps for the Republic. But his club career has struggled in recent seasons and, having made just one appearance for Leeds last season, he's been given a free transfer. Dublin-born youngster Ian Molloy is also among the eight released by Leeds.
Clubs have to inform the FA by next Monday if they are retaining players, but already a batch of Irish lads have already been let go.
Ex-internationals Ian Harte (Bournemouth), Eddie Nolan (Scunthorpe), Stephen Elliott (Carlisle), Colin Doyle (Birmingham), Michael Doyle (Sheffield United) and Clinton Morrison (Exeter) have already been given free transfers.
Sean McGinty (Rochdale), Dylan Casey and Alan Dunne (Millwall), Philip Gannon (West Brom) and Padraig Amond (Morecambe) were also axed.
