Erin's Isle and O'Dwyer's to celebrate Fran

EVERY year, Erin's Isle and O'Dwyer's come together to honour the memory of Fran Leonard.

Fran was playing for Isles against the Balbriggan club in an AFL division 4 game when he collapsed and died of sudden adult death.

This year the fixture is pencilled in for Sunday, November 16. Details have yet to be confirmed because the Finglas club could be involved in a relegation play-off.

But the day before, Saturday, November 15, the annual healing service will be held at the Monastery of St Alphonsus, St Alphonsus Road, Drumcondra (2pm).

The service remembers all those who have died from SADS or any form of sudden adult death.

All are most welcome. The service can be viewed live on rednuns.com

It's a lovely way for family and friends to cherish loved ones.

Sadly, cardiac arrest can strike anyone at any time. The Irish Heart Foundation wants more people to learn how to perform Hands Only CPR.

They have issued a poster. It reads: (1) Call 999 or 112; (2) Place hands at centre of chest; (3) Keep arms straight; (4) Push hard and fast, 100 times per minute; (5) Don't stop until help arrives.

Annual Dublin mass

THE annual Dublin County Board mass will be held on Tuesday, November 11, in Parnell Park (7.30).

It's a chance to remember all those who served the Dublin GAA over the decades, and to those that passed away during the year.

It's always a nice occasion. All are welcome. And there will be tea and cake at full-time.
