DUNDALK breezed past non-league side UCC and became the first side to win a place in the last four of the EA Sports Cup.

The Lilywhites have been unforgiving in the league and they took no prisoners in Cork with a 5-0 win. Stephen Kenny fielded a weakened side at the Mardyke with only four first-team regulars in the starting XI but they had no difficulty in dealing with UCC.

Youngster Ciaran O'Connor put Dundalk on the way to the win with a goal on three minutes, while former St Patrick's Athletic man Jake Kelly added a second on 13 minutes.

Once Paddy Barrett netted Dundalk's third goal nine minutes before the break, the tie was over though there was still time for Barrett to score again on 55 minutes, and Kurtis Byrne made made it 5-0 on 78 minutes.
