Dubs manager declares that Jackies are A-Listers
ONE word can spoil a party. Somebody wrote this season that Dublin have been "listless".
Blue boss, Gregory McGonigle, doesn't agree, and he jumped to defend his players with all the gusto he could muster.
"Listless. That's definitely not the case," Gregory insisted.
"These girls are putting in a savage effort. They are training four and five nights a week. They are as committed as last year.
"We started 23 players in the League this year. And we have looked at 28. It would have been more only for injuries.
"So we are quite content with the fact that more players have got game-time this season than last, and that has to be a positive."
As the summer and the scent of the Championship begins to linger, Gregory says that the Jackies are in a good place.
"Last week was the first week we had all our colleges players back, so that's a big plus.
"Against Tyrone last week we had Molly Lamb making an appearance after her injury. Olivia Leonard also came back in against Tyrone, and Amy Connolly has been doing very well. Overall, the League has been good for us. We have taken a lot from it, and on the last day we are still in the mix. So that's not a bad place to be."
And for those that questioned Gregory's girls, the man himself is making a list. And he's checking it twice!
