Doyle goals earn praise

Cardiff

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade says he has high hopes for his all-Irish strike force of Eoin Doyle and Joe Mason.

Tallaght lad Doyle scored two penalties while ex-U21 cap Mason was also on target in a 3-2 win over relegated Blackpool.

"I thought Eoin and Joe looked good and that partnership with Joe is only going to continue to improve," said Slade after City's last home game of a disappointing season.

Doyle - picked by his fellow players for the League One team of the season despite that move up to the Championship mid-season - was trusted with spot-kick duties.

"Eoin was banging on my door in the week saying he wanted to take any penalties," said Slade.
