Determined Dublin keep dream alive

DUBLIN travel to Derry next Saturday with a quarter-final place in the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Championship on offer.

"We are still very much in this competition. And we have something to fight for," remarks Dublin boss, Shane O'Brien.

Dublin's point in Clare on Saturday keeps the Blues dancing.

"We are very relieved that we got out with the draw. We were two points down, and my watch showed that 32 and a half minutes were gone in the second half.

"It looked like it was all over for us at that stage, but the girls showed immense character to come back and get something out of the game.

"It all comes down to Derry now on Saturday, and we'll take confidence from the Clare result."

Meanwhile at O'Toole Park on Sunday, Dublin beat Roscommon in the All-Ireland Premier Junior Championship, 2-18 to 2-8.

Elaine Gallery scored four points. It capped a memorable weekend for Elaine as she won the Leinster Poc Fada event at Beann Eadair.

Georgina Kelly hit eight points (6 frees), with the goals coming from Aisling McDonald and Lynn Devoy.
