Conlan camp in California
Michael Conlan reckons the quality of sparring on offer in California will lure him to Jason Quigley's Rock Gym to prepare for his professional career.
The Belfast bantamweight, who plans to campaign as a super-bantam in the pros, is set to move Stateside to launch his paid career next year.
While Conlan looks likely to fight on the US east coast and make his Top Rank pro debut at New York's Madison Square Garden Theatre on St Patrick's Day, he will be based on the west coast, with LA the most likely destination.
Former Irish amateur team-mate Jason Quigley (11-0) has been busy building his pro record out of Carson, California's Rock Gym over the past two years.
And Conlan is considering a reunion with his old middleweight pal under trainer Manny Robles.
"I'm looking at training in Quigley's place with his coach and there's good quality sparring partners there," said the 24-year-old.
