Caritas College charge ends with Tullamore loss

soccer: U-19 girls league

CARITAS College and Sacred Heart Tullamore will go again at Under-17 level afte the latter marched on from their Leinster League Girls Under-19 semi-final on Tuesday.

First-half goals from Bronagh Kane and Orla Gorman gave the visiting Dublin side a mountain to climb at half-time against the school who also reached the Leinster Cup showpiece earlier in the campaign.

Loretto Kilkenny denied the Tullamore school a second title in three years than.

Despite Ciara Tracey and Lauren Keeler going close for the Ballyfermot outfit, Katie Dunne completed the scoring for Tullamore's Sacred Heart.

The Tullamore school - who were Leinster Cup champions in 2012 - now face Eureka Kells in the provincial league final on Tuesday, April 28 after the latter beat St Mary's Naas 4-2 on Tuesday.

For Caritas boss Richie Farrell, the focus now turns to Monday week's Under-17 Leinster League quarter-final clash with Sacred Heart.

Farrell's older girls have home advantage on this occasion as they look to carry the capital charge into the last four of that competition.
