Brady Pole axed, says boss Bruce
STEVE Bruce has told Martin O'Neill to forget about trying to call up Robbie Brady for the Euro 2016 qualifier at home to Poland, writes AIDAN FITZMAURICE.
The Dubliner suffered a calf injury after tripping in a hole at Hull's training ground. Despite reports that Brady could be out for the season, last week O'Neill named him in the 35-man squad for the Poland clash, saying that Brady himself had stated his desire to be fit for the vital qualifier.
But Bruce insists that Brady will not be coming to Dublin. He won't be available for Ireland, no chance of that," said the Tigers boss.
"He's got a nasty tear of his calf. He's jogging slightly but not trained with any force at all.
"He had a 9cm tear of his calf so that's six weeks out and it's now two and a half. I can't see him being ready."
