Belenguer the heroine as Laurence's make history
PAULA BELENGUER stole the show as St Laurence College cruised into their first Leinster final with a stunning away victory.
An Inter-Provincial tournament winner with Leinster in October, Bellenguer helped herself to four goals as the Loughlinstown school blew heavyweights Eureka College away on their own patch with a 5-0 Under-15 semi-final win.
Jessie Morrissey was also on target on the landmark day for the school last Friday in Kells.
Incredibly, the school's First Year B Cup girls than matched the achievement by also putting five past their provincial semi-final opponents Le Cheile SS, Blanchardstown.
Molly Murphy (two), Suzanne O'Brien, Suranne Williams and Bobby Downer were on target for the Under-14s.
In the boys' section, Coláiste Phádraig have become accustomed to reaching Leinster finals and last Thursday their Under-14 boys beat Coláiste na hInse, Bettystown, 3-1 to reach their third decider in four years.
Back-to-back First Year Cup winners in 2012 and 2013 - they added All-Ireland glory the first time around - the Lucan school had Yasser Mahrouk, Luke Harris and Cian McGrane goals to thank for the win.
Twenty-four hours later the school was celebrating again as the Under-17s beat St Declan's College, Cabra 4-2 in the Dublin Metropolitan semi-final.
Conor Kane (two), Paul Cleary and Kyle Hogan were on target for the Junior boys.
Determined to have the final say, the Under-15s capped a big week with a 6-1 victory over Clonkeen College in the Leinster Champions League quarter-final (Dublin Cup winners qualify) on Tuesday.
