BALLYMUN KICKHAMS

THIS week's Hero of the Week is Corey Power. Not only is he a "coach extraordinaire" at our nursery, but he was crucial for our U14s win over Mark's on Saturday. Well done Corey, our Laoch Na Seachtaine. Take a bow. Corey was ably-assisted by Man of the Match Reese Basnett with Craig Rooney and Conor Perkins. Training for the lads is Monday and Wednesday at 6.30pm in Albert College. Our U15s also had a good win over Clontarf and have gym training on Tuesday at 7pm. Our U16s got back to winning ways against Castleknock, with CIan Fagan, David Drumgoole, Cillian Carrol and Sergei Runin to the fore. The lads now have the shield semi-final v Lucan in 2 weeks, a clash of the league's top 2. Speedy recovery to Cameron McCormack, who was recently injured in an accident. Our minors had a big win over Cuala on Friday. Carl Keeley, Kieron McDonnell and Paddy Small up front, Dean O'Brien and Ryan O'Leary in defence, controlling the game. The lads resume in the gym Wednesday week and have a league game v Na Fianna on Sunday 17th. Our Annual Golf Classic is in the K Club on the 28th August. Teams of 4 are €300, and there are also sponsorship opportunities. For more details, please visit our website, http://www.ballymunkickhams.com, where you can also link to our Facebook and Twitter feeds. Congratulations to Jim Gavin and the Dublin team on the NFL victory, and especially our numerous members involved in the team and squad. Comhgairdeas. Finally, the executive committee of the club, on behalf of our members and friends, would like to express deepest sympathies to Eamonn Donnelly and his family, on the recent passing of his mother. May she Rest In Peace.

BEANN EADAIR

CONGRATULATIONS to our U14 girls' team on reaching their Feile final following 4 wins on a very wet Saturday. They were narrowly defeated in Sunday's final by Na Fianna by 1 point at end of a very exciting game. An excellent squad effort with great performances from all the team. Well done to our U9 girls' teams, who played against O'Toole's with tremendous play from all the girls and in particular Hannah Gilroy and Sophie Goold. Hard luck to the U14 boys' footballers, beaten by Na Fianna with great performances by Calum Sheridan and Murray Pitcher. There will be a stone pick on the new pitch this Friday from 7pm with refreshments afterwards in the club for volunteers. All assistance greatly appreciated. There was no Lotto winner this week. The numbers were 2, 10, 24 & 28 and the Jackpot now stands at €8,750.

CASTLEKNOCK

A MASSIVE congratulations to all players, mentors and everyone else involved in the Girls' Football Féile team, who were crowned Division 2 Champions at the weekend. After a great performance in the group stages in Skerries on Saturday and in the semi-final, the girls then finished the job in style against a tough Fingallians team in the final on Sunday. Photos from the weekend can be found on the website. Well done also to the senior hurlers, who got their Intermediate Championship campaign off to a winning start against Ballyboden last Saturday. Help is needed next weekend in Somerton from 7am to set-up for the Boys' Football Féile that the club is hosting this year. Please contact Philip Bohan at 087-2482480. Details of the Summer Camps are now on the website. Membership for the New Year is due, please continue to hand in all forms and fees. Forms can be downloaded from the website. There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot, which now stands at €2,600. The nursery is on every Saturday in Tir Na nOg at 10am, and all new players and families are welcome.

CIVIL SERVICE

WE knew it wasn't going to be easy taking on the might of Ballyboden in the first round of the Junior Championship on Sunday and we were right. Both of our teams came in a distant second place against dominant, fitter, younger Ballyboden sides. Our first team made a solid start in a bright breezy and bumpy Ballycullen Park. We matched the early scores and may have been unlucky not to have a goal or two, but in a 15-minute spell before half-time, the scores rained down on us, leaving the contest out of reach. A creditable second-half fightback managed to salvage some pride, but didn't impact on the scoreboard. Over in Islandbridge, our second team had a similar experience, where again our inability to convert chances was in contrast to our visitors' speed and execution. We know the improvement to be made if we are to advance. Both teams have four more games each to qualify for their respective quarter-finals and final knockout stages. The next engagements of those Championship encounters set for the weekend of 16/17th May. Training resumes as usual on Wednesday evening in Islandbridge at 7pm. The last few members who have yet to pay their annual subscription should do so straight away.

CLANN MHUIRE

THE club would like to send its deepest sympathies to the Ennis family on the sudden and untimely passing of Anthony Ennis this week. Anthony was a past player and a member of Clann Mhuire. On the playing pitch it was a mixed weekend. Ladies were beaten in mid-week by Parnell's in Cup and 1st team were beaten by Man-O-War in Cup on Saturday. St Peter's minors had a super win over Ballinteer St John's on Sunday morning. St Peter's U15 boys received a walkover, while St Peter's U13s had a great win over Na Fianna on a scoreline of 6-9 to 6-2. St Peter's U16 girls were narrowly beaten on Sunday by Fingal Ravens by 2 points. U11s had a good win over St Maur's. Best of luck to Brian Kiely and Rachel O'Brien on their wedding day this week. Make sure to check clannmhuire.ie for fixtures for the week ahead.

CLANNA GAEL FONTENOY

CONGRATULATIONS to Clanns man, Declan Darcy, and his fellow Dublin selectors and management team for Dublin's National League Football title. Well done to our U14 girls' Feile team, who played brilliantly to reach the semi-final, where they were unfortunate to lose out to a good St Jude's team. Great credit is due to all the players and management on an excellent performance over the whole day. Credit, with a splash of sympathy, is also due to our U14 and U15 boys' football teams, both of whom came up marginally short in their matches this weekend. The U14s lost by a single goal to Clontarf in their Division 1 clash, while our U15s lost by an even slimmer two-point margin to a Templeogue/Synge Street. Still, both teams demonstrated that they are perfectly capable of turning things around in their coming fixtures. The following numbers drawn on the 20th April did not produce a winner for the Jackpot: 2, 5, 29 and 30. The Jackpot increases to €8,600. The club says a big 'thank you' to Orlaith Curran who, after a year or so with us, is travelling further afield to the likes of New Zealand and Hong Kong. She has been instrumental in much of the good work initiated during the last 12 months - including the Croke Park-sponsored 'Play to Stay' initiative and the 'Le Cheile' support programme for our team mentors and coaches. Our loss will be someone else's gain in that she will be promoting the GAA games ethos for the benefit of others.

CLONTARF

OUR U16 footballers picked up their 2nd Team of the Week Award, following a pulsating extra-time victory over Kilmacud Crokes in the A Championship Shield, with Liam Ennis a brilliant man of the match. Well done to our 2 Feile girls teams, who reached the semi-final of their respective divisions. A great achievement by both teams. Well done to Paddy Smith, who starred at centre-half-back for the Dublin minor hurling team against Offaly in their first round Championship match. Also to Jack McCaffrey on his man of the match award for the Dubs in their National League win over Cork. Best wishes to our Feile hurling teams this coming weekend. Social footballers defeated St Maur's (4-4 to 0-13) in a great tussle on Friday night. Next up a trip to Kildare. There was no winner of our Club Lotto. The numbers drawn were 20-25-28-31. The weekly consolation winners were Tony O'Beirne and Teresa Cole. Next week's Jackpot is worth €8,000. www.clontarfgaa.com.

CRUMLIN

BIG thank you to Brenda and her helpers, who were bag-packing in Dunnes Stores in the Ashleaf on Friday and Saturday. This was another hugely-successful fundraiser for the club and was well-attended by juveniles and parents alike, so thanks to all those volunteers and Brenda, who made it such a successful day. At the last count, we had raised over €2,000. Hard luck to our senior hurlers, who were beaten in their opening Senior Hurling Championship game on Friday night in Lorcan O'Toole Park by a very-strong Ballyboden side, but their hopes of progressing are not over yet as they play St Jude's on the 14th May in Kiltipper at 7pm. GARDA/WESTMANSTOWN GAELS

LADIES the only adult team in action last week, with a convincing 7-6 to 2-6 win away in the Cup at Ballyboden St Enda's. Back to the league this week with home game against Naomh Mearnog on Wednesday evening in Westmanstown, starting at 7.30pm. Intermediates and juniors are both away this week in the league, with juniors first up on Tuesday evening at Robert Emmet's. Throw-in at 7pm. On Wednesday evening, intermediates travel to Swords to take on Fingallians in Division 3 fixture. Also starting at 7pm. A busy and exciting week for Westmanstown Gaels, especially for our U13 girls, as we hosted one of the group Feile competitions. We welcomed seven other teams on an extremely wet Saturday morning, but the standard of football brightened the day for all who were present and our girls put in brilliant performances under the guidance of Donal and Darren. They reached the semi-final, where they were unfortunately outscored by a strong Garristown side, who went on to be crowned champions. Huge congratulations to all our girls, who did themselves and the club proud and a big thank you to all the volunteers who made the day the success it was. U8 girls played a series of very competitive GO Games at home against Skerries Harps on Sunday morning. A great turnout from both clubs matched the weather and both teams left the pitches tired happy and ready for Sunday lunch. Some great skills on display and well done to parents, mentors and all who support the kids. Our U8 boys had a hurling game away to St Kevin's on Saturday. The weather made for extremely difficult conditions, but the boys strived to show their skills. We are looking forward to the next outing.
