BALLYBODEN ST ENDA'S
BALLYBODEN ST ENDA'S
CONGRATULATIONS to our Feile girls, who won the Division 1 Final against Lucan Sarsfields with a scoreline of 3-2 to 2-3. A big well done to our Division 5 team, who lost out to Ballinteer St John's in their final. A great weekend - well done to Gerry White and all the organisers over the weekend. Our Senior A footballers overcame St Vincent's in the Division 1 League with a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-7. Congratulations to Michael Darragh MacAuley, who was a member of the Dublin Senior Football team who beat Monaghan and will now play Cork in the National League Final. Well done to our U16As on their 'A' Championship win. The boys are defending the title and met Kilmacud Crokes in the 1st round of Championship in Silverpark yesterday. Hard luck to our U16Bs, who were in 'B' Championship action in Tymon Park yesterday, and despite battling valiantly, fell to near neighbours St Jude's. Our very own Emily Flanagan was awarded the players' player of the year award for Dublin after they reached the All-Ireland Final in 2014. There was no winner of this week's Lotto. The numbers were 15, 5, 17 & 13. Match three winners are Olive Mc Guinness from Templeogue. For more information on Ballyboden St Enda's, log onto www.bodengaa.ie or find us on Twitter or Facebook.
WELL done to our first adult men's team on beating Whitehall Colmcille in the league, 2-10 to 0-15. Hard luck to our second team, who were beaten by 1 point away in the league v Kilmacud Crokes. Both our U16 girls & U15 boys had their matches cancelled due to unplayable pitches. This week's upcoming fixtures: Our adult ladies, St Finian's/Ballyboughal team, plays away in the league on Wednesday v O'Toole's; U14 girls play at home on Friday v St Mark's. On Sunday, U16 St Peter's girls play St Sylvester's at home & our U12 girls play Round Towers Lusk. Our adult men's team play Fingallians in the cup at home on Saturday evening & our St Peter's minor team play in the league at home on Sunday v Whitehall Colmcille. Best of luck to all involved. Ballyboughal GFC would like to extend its condolences to the family of Declan Griffin. RIP.

WE hope you all enjoyed the Easter Break, and we welcome you back to our great news that Colm Hulton from the minors won an All-Ireland title with his school, and is very rightly crowned with our much-coveted "Hero of the Week" Award. Well done to all in Carlow CBS, but especially our "Laoch na Seachtaine" Colm Hulton. Take a bow Colm. Our U14s had a loss, but a great team performance against Jude's with Thomas Pagett and Leon Hogan exceptional. They now train at Albert College on Monday and Wednesday at 6.30pm. Our U16s had a disappointing day against Scoil Ui Chonaill in the Championship, but now turn the attention to the shield and league, both of which are very achievable. The management wish to thank all who travelled to support the team, and also to Na Fianna of Meath for travelling to play last Tuesday evening in a challenge. Our Ladies Section continues to flourish, and an example of this is our U11 team, who are 2/2 in the league after another win, with Caitlin Greene and Lana Nolan exceptional in an overall great team performance. The girls now train on Monday at 6pm in St Kevin's and boots are required. A Golf Classic has been set for the K Club in August, so please keep an eye for the press release for all the finer details. Our Club Shop will be open on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month at the Nursery and to view on our new website http://www.ballymunkickhams.com, where you can find details about queries/orders, and also where you can find the results of our monthly draw, and links to our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
IT was another clean sweep of results for the adult footballers at the weekend, with the 4th team to play on Tuesday and hopefully keep the run going. Well done to the Camogie Féile team, who performed brilliantly at the weekend and did the club proud. Please see the website for details of the Cardiac Screening that is taking place on the 25th April. Membership for the New Year is due; please continue to hand in all forms and fees. Forms can be downloaded from the website. There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot, which now stands at €2,200. The nursery has now moved to Tir Na nOg. Still on at 10am, and all new players and families are welcome.
ONLY a couple of weeks to go before the opening round of the 2015 Junior Championship, where both of our teams will be in action. In the meantime, we have important league fixtures next Sunday 19th April. Our first team plays away to Naomh Olaf in AHL6 at 11am in Pairc Uí Bhriain in Sandyford and hopes to build on the victory in our last game against Liffey Gaels. In AHL9, our second team plays at home in Islandbridge against Round Towers at 3pm. All members are asked to be sure to be available. Respond promptly to Teamer requests and be at the correct venue in plenty of time for pre-match preparations. We are always grateful for help on match day in Islandbridge with nets, flags, water bottles and hurleys to be looked after. Not to mention a few shouts from the sideline, so if any non-playing or former members are in the area, your support would be welcome. With the brighter evenings, training is on the pitch on Monday and Wednesday at 7pm sharp. Everyone should try to attend on both evenings. Anyone who cannot do so should make extra efforts to work on their own fitness and hurling skills. The few members who have yet to pay their annual subscription should do so straight away.
CLANNA GAEL FONTENOY
OF the many fine performances produced by our teams over the last week, one of the stand-out ones was that by the U16 combined football team, made up of players from Clanna Gael Fontenoy and Scoil Uí Chonaill. Currently top of Division 3 league, they took to the pitch on Saturday afternoon in the Championship against Division 1 side, Ballymun Kickhams, and played really good football to run out deserving winners with a score line of 1-12 to 1-7. Our intermediate footballers also dug deep and pulled out all the stops to earn a well-deserved draw in their league match against Garda/Westmanstown Gaels. Following hot on the heels of the successful Easter Camp for kids, the Emerging Talent Camp proved a really good draw for 12-15 year olds; and little wonder with a number of Dublin inter-county hurlers and footballers - including Mark Schutte and Dean Rock - on hand to provide their assistance and advice. Preparations are well underway for Club Table Quiz on Thursday 16th April at 8pm, which is being organised to raise funds in support of the U14 squad, which will participate in this year's Féile competition. Tables cost just €40 per team and are filling fast - the last one or two may still be available through firstname.lastname@example.org. Having run for 12 weeks, the Club's Play to Stay Pilot Programme has proved such a success, that it's been decided to run it for another five weeks every Friday at 5.30pm-6.30pm from the 17th of April-15th of May. All are welcome to come and join in on the games - the contact for which is email@example.com. Those fortunate enough to have participated to date are heading to Croke Park for a Blitz on August 24th as a reward and thank you from the GAA for taking part in the initiative.

THE senior footballers were beaten by Na Fianna, 8-12 to 1-12 last Sunday in AFL1 and the Junior As narrowly lost out to Crokes by 3-5 to 1-9 in AFL5. Better news for the Junior Bs, who had a 2-7 to 1-1 victory away to Raheny in AFL8. Cuala's 2001 girls gave a great account of themselves in the weekend Camogie Division 1 Féile, making it through the group stage with wins over Kilmacud Crokes and St Jude's, before success in a three-way play-off to make the semi-final. That took just too much energy from our girls though and the penultimate step proved one too far. There were 21 stars on display with great support from the sideline throughout the long day, hosted superbly by eventual title winners Ballyboden. This was Cuala's first time playing at such a high level and promises well for the future. The girls will be in action again in the Division One Football Feile on the weekend of April 25th/26th. In an historic first, Cuala fielded 2 adult camogie teams last week, reaping the rewards of hard work put in at Academy and juvenile level over many years. Our Division 7 team had a walkover on Tuesday. On Thursday, the Division 5 team recorded a significant win over Lucan with a final score; Cuala 6-12, Lucan 3-5. The teams are in action again this week with the Senior 7 team playing Cumann Baire Caoimhin and Senior 5 playing Kilmacud Crokes. Congratulations to the U16B footballers, on progressing to the Championship semi-final with a 2 point win over Lucan B. Sterling performances were seen throughout the team and special thanks to the '00 lads, who bolstered our panel again. This great win shows how well the two age groups are working together.

It was the biggest attendance to date with over 200 children taking part under the guidance of our GPO Declan Jennings and his coaches. Thanks Paul for taking time out to visit us. It was back to games on Saturday. SOME good results this weekend for club. Our inter footballers had a very good win over Fingallians in the league. It was good to see the lads back to form. It was a very good game of football and they deserved to win. Well done to all concerned. Our junior six footballers were defeated in their league game. Our minor hurlers travelled to Ballymun for their league game against Setanta. They struggled somewhat in the first half and were behind by 7 points at half-time. They upped their game in the second half and played some lovely hurling to run out winners by 5 points. It was a very enjoyable game played in difficult conditions and great credit to both sides for their commitment. Go maire sibh lads. Our juvenile section also had a very good day on Saturday with wins for our U8s and our U11s. Our U16s travelled to Rush for their Championship game, but unfortunately the game did not go ahead. DATE to note: The Club AGM will take place on Wednesday 29th April. Thanks to all the wonderful people who helped make Saturday's Camogie Féile so special. So many parents, friends, club and committee members, who worked hard getting everything prepared and helped in many ways to make the day a huge success. Two of our St Maur's Minors represented Dublin well at the weekend in a win against Offaly, Naomi Clare and Sinead Moran. Well done. Congratulations to the Camogie Féile team today, who just lost out narrowly in the semi-final. After 6 nail-biting games, St Maur's lost out by 2 points in the semi-final against a very good Erin's Isle team. The girls definitely did the club proud and showed their commitment to the final whistle. The future for Camogie in St Maur's is very promising. Well done girls. Our senior footballers lost out to Thomas Davis at home on Saturday. Our U15 footballers lost out to Ballyboden at home on Saturday. U14 footballers lost out away to Ballyboden on Saturday. Maur's U13 footballers lost out by a point to St Finian's away on Saturday. Due to the Féile this weekend, the U12 hurlers brought their home grading match forward against Plunkett's last night. This was a brilliant game of hurling from both sides. This was a great performance from Maur's, with each player showing great determination and skills. This was a high-scoring game with Maur's winning 6-8 to 4-6. Good fight by U11 boys' hurlers this weekend, but lost out in the end to Finbarr's. Another great win for the U11 ladies football team against St Jude's, in Tallaght this time. It was a close game, but the girls gave a display in passing and support play that the coaches have been working on this season.
A superb weekend for our adult footballers saw victories for our seniors and juniors. On Saturday evening, our seniors hosted St Peregrine's. After a tough battle, our lads earned 2 valuable league points. We send our best wishes to Andrew Killeen, who suffered a shoulder injury late in the game. Our U16 footballers had a very impressive win over Clontarf in the first round of the Championship. They play Ballyboden next. Our Féile Camogie girls were in action in St Olaf's. Well done to all involved.
NAOMH Olaf hosted Division 4 of the Dublin Camogie Feile on Saturday 11th April. Seven clubs (Commercials, Lucan, Faughs, Vincent's, Erin go Bragh, Naomh Brid and Naomh Mearnog) joined Olaf's for a day of camogie, played in bright but breezy conditions. After leading the pre-match parade, the Olaf's girls got down to business with their first game against Commercials. Playing into the wind, the girls were two goals down at half-time and could not turn it around in the second-half, losing by 2-2 to 0-1. Next up were Faughs, and the girls recorded a great win on a score line of 4-0 to 0-1. Last up were Erin go Bragh, who had won their opening two games. Nothing less than a victory would do for Naomh Olaf if we were to make the semi-finals, and having played into the wind, the girls were just one goal in arrears at half-time. After a titanic battle in the second half, the Olaf's girls lost out by a goal, and bowed out. Team as follows: Katie O'Rourke, Molly Daly, Emma Tynan, Sinead Ellis, Christine Shanahan, Sinead Walsh, Orlaith Byrne, Aoife Brennan, Julie Grimes, Lucy Hand, Susan Hickey, Shannon Boyle, Sophie Shiel, Aoife McLaughlin, Chloe Hughes, Eimear Naughton, Alannah Cullen, Lucy Byrne, Sophie Casey, Caoimhe Gleeson, Kate Nagle, Caoimhe O'Mahoney, Laura Cullen & Hannah O'Kelly. Mentors: Jim Shanahan, Declan Naughton and Veronica Donnelly. First Aid: Ann Grimes. The girls were excellent ambassadors for the club, especially when you think that 18 of the panel will be underage again for next year's Feile. Without naming names, thanks to those who had the pitches in great shape, organised the parade, managed the car parking & dressing rooms, the bar staff, the ladies who served tea & coffees, everyone who made cakes and sandwiches for our visitors.

WELL done to all our teams that competed over the past week. Our U13 B team had a comprehensive win over Na Fianna in the league on Saturday and our adult footballers did the intended job against Scoil Ui Chonaill that evening. There were strong performances from our U16 footballers in their weekend game. Leading the way, playing some great ball, were Alan McGovern & Jordan Dunne. Our adult ladies played a great friendly with Erin's Isle last Wednesday. All their training stood to them, with top-notch performances by one and all, but especially by woman of the match Nikki Kearney. Our Junior 6s were hard done by in their game against Garda on Sunday. The lads put in a great effort, but in the end the home team lost by a mere 2 points. Naomh Brid 2-2 to Raheny 5-7, full-time score. Our Senior Camogie 2 also had a win over Ballyboden. The final result of 2-11 to 1-7 did not really indicate Raheny's dominance, but it was great to start with a win. Congratulations to our Brian Fenton and the Dublin team, who had a narrow win over Monaghan on Sunday. Our deepest sympathy to Cathriona and Declan McDermott on the peaceful passing of their son Eddie. Ar dheis De a raibh a anam Dilis.
