AIDEN McGeady wants to become the next member of the 100-cap club with Ireland.

But qualification for Euro 2016 is the main goal for the Everton man ahead of a big night for Ireland in Dublin this evening.

McGeady came off the bench to claim his 76th cap in Friday's win over Gibraltar and, at 29, the winger has time on his hands to aim for 100 caps.

"It's quite scary to think that, to get to 100 caps would be unbelievable. There is a long way to go yet but every time I get on I think 'that's another cap'. Because when you finish you can always say you pulled on an Irish jersey so many times," McGeady told FAI TV.

"No one can ever take that away from you. I've always been selected in squads since I broke through.

"At times I could have done better.

"I still more to give, a bit more consistency would have been good but I've shown at times what I'm capable of.

"If it ends tomorrow, I'd be happy with how it's gone but ideally we'll qualify for the Euros, that's the aim," he added.
