Rocky road for motor dealers
THE motor industry is sure to welcome news that new car registrations rose last year. Almost 90,000 new vehicles were registered, an increase of 1.6pc on 2010.
Dublin is leading the charge, with 38pc of all new cars registered in the capital. But car dealers' joy may be short-lived, as the ending of the car scrappage scheme, coupled with VAT and motor tax hikes, will ensure that 2012 is a tough year.
