TENS of thousands of women took to the streets of Dublin for the city's 29th mini-marathon. More than 40,000 turned out in almost ideal weather conditions for the 10km course in what has become a great day in Dublin's annual calendar.
This year, the participants in the Flora Women's Mini Marathon hope to top the estimated €14m raised last year for charity.
They ranged from celebrities to runners, joggers and walkers from every county in Ireland in a great fun day out.
The money they raised will go to help cash-strapped charities struggling to carry on their good work during the recession.
What is now the biggest all-women event of its kind in the world had a carnival atmosphere unique to Dublin.
Well done to all those who trained hard and gave up their free time to help worthwhile causes.
