Does controversy really sell lipstick?

'Underage Red'. It's the name of a new lipstick that's been causing a lot of controversy. Critics claim that the name hyper-sexualises young girls. It's being sold by American company Sephora under the Kat Von D label. She's a tattoo artist, model, musician and television personality. I'm sure Kat (inset) believed that she had to do something controversial to get some publicity in an industry dominated by cosmetic giants with deep pockets for celebrity endorsements and advertising. But this is utterly offensive. 'Underage Red' is the latest in a string of objectionable names for make-up including 'Iris I Was Thinner' and 'I'm Not Really A Whore' by Naughty Nailz.
