Youth pays €100 after smashing window
A YOUNG man who smashed a window in a takeaway restaurant has avoided conviction after paying for the damage caused.
Joseph Brady (22) admitted a criminal damage charge arising from the late-night incident in Lucan.
Judge David McHugh struck the charge out at Blanchardstown District Court after the defendant paid €100, covering the €50 damage caused and a €50 donation to charity.
The court heard the incident happened at Main Street, Lucan, at 11.50pm on June 6.
Gardai were called by the owner and staff of the Roma Takeaway and found a number of men outside.
A glass panel had been broken in the door and the defendant was pointed out.
Brady, of Tullyhall Drive, Lucan, had no previous convictions of any kind.
The defendant was about to begin a FAS course.
