With the rain pouring down there's no better time to think about winter coats, fashion-forward capes, cosy knits and party season dresses.

The new autumn winter collection has dropped at BT2 and it has everything from Self Portrait dresses to Victoria Beckham parkas.

Clare Breslin, one of the store's buyers, said shoppers should invest in quality outerwear to get us through the cold months ahead.

"With our weather, outerwear is so important and there's a lot to chose from - whether it's a colourful jacket from new brand Harris Wharf or a glamorous cape from Maje," said Claire.

Self Portrait dresses have been ubiquitous on the Irish fashion scene and fans of the brand will be delighted to hear the new collection has been given a much-needed upgrade.

"The dresses have been such a success story for us, and it's great to see lightweight fabrics, sleeves and gorgeous blue tones in the new range," she said.

While many might be appalled at the news, there's no denying the 1970s trend is back - and so are flares.

"If you want to stick to your skinny jeans, you can buy some velvet trousers for evening wear, which will work great coming up to Christmas," she added.
