Winding down for the weekend
WE probably already knew it - but Fridays are the least productive day of the week with six out of ten workers winding down early for the weekend.
More than half us also fade in the mid-afternoon, with the post-lunch slump of 4pm to 6pm the least-productive time of the day.
A survey of 500 workers by office supplier Viking found we work best on Tuesdays, closely followed by Wednesday, and are the most productive from 9am to 11am.
"It's only natural for energy levels to start dropping as the day goes on, and indeed as the week goes on. So by the time Friday afternoon comes around most workers are definitely in need of a rest," said Michael Walby, of Viking.
"Employers might look at how 'dead time' can be put to better use, for example by arranging progress or team meetings for Friday afternoons.
"A flexible working week is another consideration which would allow employees the possibility of finishing a little earlier."
