Why Dubliner Thea's on path to becoming a plus-size model star
A Dublin woman competing in one of the UK's biggest model searches has revealed she hopes to become Ireland's next plus-size star.
Thea Duffy (30), who is a finalist in this year's Top Model UK, said she's excited to be representing Ireland.
The Palmerstown native will be jetting off to London to compete in the finals on Saturday and believes she's "in with a good chance" of snatching the overall title in the Over 25s category.
Thea (pictured), who is a size 12-14, hopes a win could lead to a career similar to her plus- size model namesake, Tia Duffy, who recently starred in a shoot for Vogue.
"I definitely do think there should be more curvy girls in the Irish modelling scene," she told the Herald.
"I just think it's really important to represent normal women."
