What a thrill to have Anne Doyle read at my launch
The official launch of the book was last night, and of course we had it in Pantibar.
Everyone from my publishers, Hachette Ireland, was there and lots of other people from the publishing and media business, but it was mostly friends and family so I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
All my family had come up from Mayo and my brother had come from Rome and it's rare that we all get together, so that was especially lovely.
Anne Doyle (inset) officially launched the book and read an excerpt in her wonderful newsreader voice, which was such a thrill for me!
There'll be a bit more book promotion next week, but then it'll be back to touring my live show - High Heels in Low Places.
I'm off to Limerick, Belfast, Galway, Sligo, and then six nights in The Project Arts Centre in Temple Bar at the beginning of December.
I'll also be finishing up filming a programme for RTE, and doing my other gigs.
I do a lot of MC-ing events, and these days I'm also lucky enough to be invited to speak to universities regularly.
And of course I always try to be in Dublin on Saturdays because I still do my silly-but-fun show in Pantibar every Saturday night.
It's Halloween tonight but it's probably my least favourite holiday - I already dress up for a living!
Pantibar is hosting a party organised by City of Sanctuary Dublin tonight which should be great fun.
As is customary for the night that's in it there'll be prizes for the those with the best costumes.
And even if your costume is crap revellers might still win a raffle prize - with all proceeds going to City Of Sanctuary.
