Weather back to 'normal' at weekend

NOBODY is quite sure what it means anymore, but forecasters say our weather will be back to "normal" this weekend.

In a welcome relief from gale-force winds, the weather is set to turn relatively mild in the coming days.

The heavy rain of recent days will turn to scattered showers tonight with temperatures dropping no lower than 3C-7C.

"The weather will be a lot more settled over the rest of the weekend and well into next week, with a mixture of cloudy, damp spells and dry, bright interludes," Met Eireann said today.

Tomorrow we can expect some brighter weather with short sunny bursts and the weather in general will be a lot more settled.

Rainfall will be well below average and there will be very few significant night-time frosts.

Sunday will be a cloudy day but still mild with top temperatures of 9-11C.
