Ward sorry for Manchester TV slur
Former X Factor winner Shayne Ward has apologised for comments he made about being from Manchester.
Appearing as a guest on ITV's This Morning to talk about his new role in Coronation Street, when asked where he would be now if he had not been in the X Factor he said: "Being from Manchester, probably in prison."
TV host Phillip Schofield was not amused. "I'm from Oldham and I take great exception to that," he said.
Ward (right) took to Twitter to apologise. "Ha my 'prison' answer was a joke. Please don't be offended. Little Sense of humour. Don't read into things."
He apologised after his comments drew a mixed reaction on social media.
