Uninsured driver banned

A REPEAT no-insurance offender has been banned from driving for 15 years.

Anthony Doyle (33) has seven previous convictions for driving without insurance though his last driving ban was in 2008.

Judge David McHugh imposed an 11-month sentence suspended for two years, fined him €100 and disqualified him from driving for 15 years.

The defendant, of Dromheath Drive in Mulhuddart, admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to driving without insurance at Ongar Distributor Road on January 15, 2014.

Defence solicitor Kelly Breen told the court that Doyle, a father-of-two, has been receiving treatment for a heroin problem.

Handled stolen boxing gloves

A DUBLIN man handled a box of stolen boxing gloves which had earlier been stolen from the back of a jeep, a court heard.

Gary Malynn (27) was fined €200 by Judge John Lindsay who also imposed a four-month suspended sentence.

The defendant, of Brookview Grove in Tallaght, admitted before Tallaght District Court to handling a box of stolen boxing gloves, worth approximately €300, at Glenshane Crescent in Tallaght on June 20, 2013.

Defence solicitor Michael Hennessy said there was no suggestion Malynn broke into the jeep.

Too much to drink on 30th

A BIRTHDAY reveller urinated on a footpath and wandered out in front of traffic after he had too much to drink, a court has heard.

Stephen Fox (30) claimed he "went overboard" at a 30th birthday party.

Judge David McHugh fined him €100.

The defendant, of Beaufort Downs in Rathfarnham, admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to public drunkenness and being drunk and a danger to traffic at Jamestown Road in Finglas on September 28.

Fox apologised for his behaviour, saying he had too much to drink.
