Two people drown in separate tragedies
TWO people have died in separate drowning incidents in Donegal and Tipperary.
Emergency services launched a major search for a man in his 20s who fell into the River Finn at Cloghan in Donegal while fishing yesterday.
It's believed the man with a group of people when he fell into the water at around 11.45am at a place known locally as The Salmon Leap.
The Coast Guard at Malin Head was alerted by gardai and a helicopter was dispatched from Sligo.
Local divers, along with Gardai, searched the riverbank and the man's body was pulled from the water yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, a 69-year-old woman passed away in the early hours of Sunday after she fell into the lake close to Drumineer, Co Tipperary.
The emergency services were alerted at approximately 12.30am, and the RNLI and the Coastguard went to the scene and her body was recovered.
