TV star Eoghan makes depression film
He's previously spoken about his experiences with self-harm and now Eoghan McDermott is making a movie on the subject.
Last year, the presenter revealed that he had self-harmed after plunging into depression following a break-up. He is now working on a short film about others that have gone through similar experiences.
"I put out a call to action on my Twitter to see if anyone wanted to get involved, and even off the back of that - the slightest invite - people kind of want an avenue to share," he told the Herald.
Speaking at the launch of this year's Darkness Into Light campaign in aid of Pieta House, the broadcaster said he's also working on a dance show to be filmed in the UK this summer.
"I've got one pilot that got a bit of development funding - loosely, it's a dance show," he explained. "I've got a really good production company that are going to film something over the summer and ship it out and see what happens."
While Eoghan sees himself settling down in Ireland, he admits he feels there are more career opportunities for him in London.
"I love it there (in London)," he said. "I would definitely settle down here - buy a house and all that - but London is great career-wise.
"You can do the same job and get paid ten times the amount, so it's no comparison in that sense."
