Travel agents donate holidays to raise money for paralysed Dublin student
Travel agents are donating holidays worth €20,000 to help raise money for a Dublin student who suffered life-changing spinal injuries.
Clontarf native Jonathan Ranson broke his neck after diving into a pool in San Diego in 2014, and was left paralysed from the chest down.
Due to his injuries, Jonathan (inset) needs continued financial support to access specialised services and equipment to maintain his health and fitness.
Travel agents have now come together to support the Jonathan Ranson Trust, donating €20,000 worth of holidays to destinations such as New York, Paris and Dubai for a raffle.
Tickets are €20 each or a book of three for €50 at www.teamjonathanranson-tickets.com.
Jonathan has expressed his gratitude at the support he has received. "I am determined to push myself to the limit and will keep fighting to live the fullest life possible," he said.
Recently, Dublin football star Jack McCaffrey - who is a friend of Jonathan - took to the catwalk for a fashion show to raise funds for the trust.
The event, at the Hilton Hotel, saw over 350 people attend with the money raised going towards his care.
