Tracey Ullman's elderly mum dies in fire
ComIC Tracey Ullman has been left "deeply saddened" after her elderly mother died in a fire in her flat.
Doreen Skinner (85) was killed by the blaze caused by the "careless disposal" of a cigarette, according to an investigation by firefighters.
Ullman (55, inset) became a huge star in the UK and the US in the 1980s. Earlier this month it was revealed that she is to make a new six-part BBC One series, The Tracey Ullman Show, almost 30 years after she moved across the Atlantic.
A spokesman for the comic said: "Tracey and her family are deeply saddened by the death of her mother, Doreen.
"The family would like to thank everyone for the kind messages they have received and ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult time."
The incident happened at the flat in Kiln Court, in the Holtspur area of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said Mrs Skinner was found dead in her bedroom.
