Tourists out in cold as hostel goes bust
An Australian family who arrived in Dublin to find their city hotel had shut down were left standing in the street with their luggage trying to organise alternative accommodation.
Danny Draper, his wife Donna (below) and their twin daughters Angela and Sarah (18) found a notice on the door of Hotel Isaacs on Store Street saying it was closed.
The company that owns it has gone liquidation.
Also affected in the closures are Isaacs Hostel around the corner on Frenchman's Lane and the nearby Jacob's Hostel on Talbot Place.
"We hadn't heard any thing about it closing, we just got a taxi from the airport and found we couldn't get in," Danny, from Sydney, said.
"We booked the holiday about six months ago as a present for our daughters who just finished high school. These things happen I suppose."
A spokesperson for liquidators Moore Stephens Nathans told the Herald that alternative accommodation had been found for guests.
