Top marks for teen twins in amazing Junior Cert double

TWINS Jack and Tom Doran got the best results possible in the Junior Cert -- with identical grades.

The Clontarf brothers scored 11 As each in the exams that put them at the top of the class at St Paul's College, Raheny.

They celebrated their amazing feat with their family at their home in Hollybrook Road last night.

Delighted parents Jackie and David told the Herald their sons deserved their success.

"We're absolutely thrilled. They put in so much hard work," said the proud father.

"It's wonderful they did so well, especially on the double! They work so well together," he said.

The 15-year-old twins, like all their classmates, were obliged to sit 11 subjects in the exams. They got top grades in each one.

Mother Jackie said: "Instead of opening their results at school, they brought them home.

"Jack went upstairs to open his results and came down to tell us he got 11 As. Then Tom opened his and read them out one-by-one.

"We were relieved they both got the exact same results," she said.

A spokeswoman for St Paul's College said: "Everyone at the school is very proud of their achievement."
