WHAT'S wrong with our water?

That's the question households and businesses were demanding an answer to today as city officials were struggling to explain what has led to the nightmare shutdown.

Parts of the city were still without fresh water this morning even though normal service was due to resume at 7am.

Business owners have vented their anger at Dublin City Council, claiming pubs and restaurants will be brought to their knees.

One restaurant owner took a photo of the cloudy tap water (inset) at the Camden Kitchen today.

Experts have now been called in from the UK to try and fix problems at the Ballymore Eustace plant. However, chief engineer Michael Phillips has conceded they have no idea when it will be fixed.

Meanwhile, firemen warned that the switch-off "could not have come at a worse time" as they faced their busiest night of the year tonight.
