Teen 'touched while in bed' Passenger on weapon charge 'Waterboy' for grow-op free Prison cellmate killer executed

A TEENAGER was fondled in bed by her aunt's boyfriend, who then told her to keep it "their secret."

She later told gardai she was terrified because she believed he wanted to have sex with her.

The 25-year-old defendant told Blanchardstown District Court he'd been on a drink and drugs binge and couldn't remember the incident.

Judge Patrick McMahon ordered a probation report and adjourned sentencing until July, saying the man's behaviour had done untold damage to the teenager.

The defendant, who cannot be named to protect his victim, admitted sexually assaulting the girl (14) in his north Dublin home on August 23 last year.



Passenger on weapon charge

A man was arrested trying to board a flight out of Puerto Rico with weapons that included a stun gun, a switch-blade knife and box cutters.

He was passing through a security checkpoint at the airport when the weapons were found in his luggage.

US prosecutors charged him with attempting to board an aircraft with concealed weapons, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.



'Waterboy' for grow-op free

THE "waterboy" for a highly sophisticated cannabis operation has been given a suspended sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Gardai estimated the plants were worth around €330,000 and €30,000 had been spent on equipment .

Keith O'Brien (36), of Grange Close, Ballymun, pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis at Greenogue Industrial Estate, Rathcoole and possession of cannabis at his home on July 25, 2008.

Judge Frank O'Donnell sentenced him to three years, suspended in full for five years on conditions.



Prison cellmate killer executed

A condemned US prisoner was executed for killing a cellmate while already serving two life sentences for a double murder.

Rogelio Cannady (37) never denied fatally beating his 55-year-old cellmate with a belt and padlock.But he insisted the attack at a prison in South Texas was in self-defence.
